Membership Terms and Conditions

1. Membership Application Form

All types of membership require the relevant fees and an accurately completed membership application form, including Direct Debit Instruction, which is only used by us in accordance with your chosen type of membership. All joining fees are non-refundable. These terms & conditions apply to your membership
 
2. Annual Memberships
 
Annual memberships are at a discounted rate and no refunds are paid on early termination (this does not affect your statutory rights).
 
3. Monthly Memberships
 
a)      Monthly Membership requires a joining fee with a pro-rated monthly payment, if relevant. Monthly payments are made by Direct Debit on or about the specified day of each month.
b)      If you cancel your membership, you will need to pay the joining fee again upon renewal.
c)      Membership fees must be paid in accordance with these terms and conditions regardless of your level of usage of the facilities. (This does not affect your statutory rights).
d)      All fees must be subject to periodical review but we will give you prior written notice of any change. You will be entitled to cancel your membership at any time before the increase comes into effect.
e)      You may only have access to the facilities if all your payments to us are not in arrears.
f)        Your membership will continue to run for an initial 6 months, during which time you cannot cancel your membership.
g)      After 5 months you may cancel your membership at any time giving 1 months written notice to the manager of the centre. The date of cancellation will be the date on which this notice period ends.
 
4. Membership Cards
 
Membership cards are not transferable.
 
Your membership card must be presented to our staff at reception on each visit to our facilities before using them and upon request at any time by our staff. If you cannot produce a membership card to us you can be allowed to use or have access to our facilities on payment of an additional fee as defined in the current pricing schedule. Any loss of membership cards must be reported to us immediately. There is an administration charge of £2 per replacement card.
 
5. Use of Equipment
 
In the absence of any negligence or breach of any other legal duty by our staff, the use by you of any of our equipment or facilities is entirely at your own risk. We provide regular induction classes explaining the safe and proper use of each item of equipment and members must take an induction upon joining. You must not use any equipment unless you are satisfied that you are competent to do so and you must use the equipment or the facilities safely and properly, without causing any risk of injury to yourself or others, or any damage to any property. You may be responsible for any injuries or damage caused by you.
 
We will not be responsible for any loss or injury to you to the extent that it is caused or contributed to by your unsafe or improper use of the equipment or any of the facilities.
 
We reserve the right to refuse access to the facilities and suspend your membership at any time if you act in a way that may cause offence or distress to others; any risk or harm or damage; any risk, in our opinion, to anyone’s health, including yours; and if you fail to use equipment safely and properly or as instructed by our staff.
 
6. Valuables and Liability
 
In the absence of any clear negligence or breach of any legal duty, we shall not be responsible for or liable to you for any loss of or damage to your possessions. You must check and monitor the safety of your possessions, which should at least be secured by you with lockable lockers provided, if available. We do not however, give any guarantee that the lockers give any form of protection for your possessions and you are advised not to bring valuable items to our facilities.
 
We will endeavour to ensure that the equipment and facilities are available during the advertised opening hours. We do not accept any liability for non-availability of specific facilities in connection with cleaning, repair, alteration or maintenance work.
 
7. Upgrade / Downgrade of Membership
 
You may change your type of membership if you give us at least 1 month’s written notice of your intention to do so and pay the applicable fee.
 
8. Bookings
 
You are advised to book with out staff at reception for a place for any gym or fitness class. You can book up to 14 days in advance for the facilities and activities for which you have subscribed. You must give 4 hours notice if you are unable to attend the session as the fee may, at our discretion, still be payable.
 
A court that can be booked with certain memberships can be booked up to 1 day in advance, subject to availability. Any booking made in advance of 1 day will be charged at the standard rate and any cancellations must be made with 48 hours notice or court charges will apply.
 
Any member who books a court and does not play is subject to being charged the full rate.
 
9. Amendment of Membership Terms & Conditions
We may from time to time amend these terms & conditions and, other than changes in monthly fees, we will display these in reception giving at least 6 weeks notice. If you do not find these changes acceptable to you, you may terminate membership prior to the amendment coming into effect by giving us at least 1 month’s notice in writing.
 
10. Change of Member’s Details
 
You are responsible for providing to us any changes to your details including change of name and address immediately upon the changes occurring. If any changes require a new Direct Debit arrangement you must inform us of the new circumstances and complete a new Direct Debit Instruction. If you fail to change your details or provide us with a new Direct Debit Instruction, we may, at our discretion suspend your membership or cancel it. If your membership is cancelled you will need to re-join paying any applicable additional fees.
 
11. Termination of Membership
 
Upon termination you will be responsible for cancellation of your Direct Debit arrangements. If there is still a balance for money due to us you must pay it immediately.
 
12. Refer a friend scheme
 
Any current member who refers a friend to join a membership at fitness @ tlc is entitled to a reduction on their monthly payments. The new member must write the referrer’s name and customer number on their membership form at time of signing up.
 
Payment reductions are as follows:
 
1 referral = £2 off per month
2 referrals = £5 off per month
3 referrals = £10 off per month
4+ referrals = Membership reduced to £5 per month per member.
 
If the referral’s payments are not collected or they cancel their membership prior to the first 6 months being completed any reductions will be voided.
 
This offer is not available to Elite Members.
 

Sports & Fitness Users Terms & Conditions

You are advised to book with our staff at reception for a place for any activity. You can book up to 3 days in advance as a non-right option member and payment must be made at time of booking. No refunds are available for non-right option members.
 
You can book up to 14 days in advance as a right-option member, if you are unable to attend your booking at least 48 hours notice must be given or you will still be charged the full amount.
 
5. Authorisation to Fitness Suite
 
Any user must complete and sign a PAR-Q form before using any equipment in the fitness suite. A Health & Fitness Consultant must sign the PAR-Q before commencing exercise in the fitness suite. Any users referred onto Extra Care must have authorisation from the Wellness Manager or Sports & Fitness Manager before commencing exercise in the fitness suite.
 
Any changes in health or medication should be notified to a qualified fitness professional before re-commencing any form of physical activity.
 
Any previous casual member who has not attended for the previous 2 years will be subject to the authorisation process again and may need to pay any joining fees applicable.
 
The minimum age to use the fitness suite is 16 years old.
 
Wildcat sessions are for 14-16 year olds and are restricted to the published times, all Wildcat members must complete an induction and authorisation.
 

Sunbeds Terms & Conditions

 
a)      The European Standard advises no more than 60 sessions per calendar year to which SLL adheres. If this is surpassed the customer will not be allowed any more sun beds until the 12 month period is up. After 50 sunbeds in any annual period, will be notify you of this fact.
b)      All staff has the right to refuse a customer a sunbed if they feel the need to.
c)      Any new customer can only use the Sunbed for 5 mins on his/her first visit
d)      A member of staff will tick off each subsequent visit.
e)      If an individual ticks skin type 2 this only allows you to have 5 mins on sunbeds
f)        Each session should be at least 24 hours apart
g)      Winkies / goggles must be worn at all times and are sold at reception

All new customers must fill in a yellow card and be fully screened before their first sunbed; this will be a PARQ and be kept in sports reception.
