Stevenage Swimming Centre Policies
Child Admission Policy
Stevenage Leisure Limited aims to ensure that children visiting our facilities have a safe and enjoyable time. To help us achieve this you must ensure:
- Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a person aged 18+ or a parent - Ratio 2:1 (2 children to 1 adult).
- In the main pool a child under the age of 5 must be accompanied by a person aged 18+ or a parent - Ratio 1:1 (one child to one adult).
- Whilst in the water, the supervising person must remain with the child/children at all times. All children under the age of 8 not accompanied by a person aged 18+ or a parent will not be permitted into the swimming pool
This policy applies the recommendations of the health and safety executive.
Keeping your pool clean
Stevenage Leisure Limited aims to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in your pool.
You can help us by:
- Showering before entering the pool … this removes dirt, cosmetics and deodorants that would otherwise end up in your pool
- Ensuring that babies wear well fitting baby swimming nappies … this prevents those little embarrassments becoming big ones!
- Using the toilets provided … this keeps the water clean for everyone, encourage young children to use the toilet before they swim
- Wearing a swim hat … this helps to protect your hair and reduce water pollution
- Not swimming if you have just eaten or if you have an upset stomach
- Not swimming if you have a recent history of diarrhoea
- Not wearing outdoor shoes on poolside … these transfer dirt onto the poolside so use the overshoes provided
- Not bringing prams or pushchairs onto poolside … the wheels also transfer dirt onto poolside
Thank you for your help!
